I realize the last thing we may need is another
band with another website with another wandering introduction
letter
but I am consistently amazed at the power
and the communication of music. And certainly during these
times, its ability to heal and bring some comfort. Everyone
has a song that on some certain day it rings differently to
you, you hear your own thoughts echoed in the words or even
just the melody. You can picture yourself within it and
although
it seems like an overused term, you can relate to it
and
it gives a voice to some inner struggle that needed a vehicle
to get out. Songs still make me cry. Nearly more than anything
else. Although "Serendipity" might have brought
a sniffle
not much
you know
I mean
its
not like guys cry at movies and pretend their eye itches to
wipe a little tear away
er, at least thats what
I hear
I wouldnt know
(ahem-cough)
see
that Bears game?
Anyway, it is our hope that through this little forum here
you may meet some other people, from different states, countries,
cities, have different beliefs, or just have some great stories
to tell. I think the older you get, the more important stories
are and the listening to of stories gets. That
make sense? When I would rather hear my grandpa talk about
hanging off the side of a ski lift 50 feet in the air, or
my dad recalling his rodeo days, I know Im getting older.
I already pause longer in the tool section of Walmart. Ooo
thats
a good deal on that skill saw. Yikes
I try to shake it
off. History, sharing, tolerance, relationships and learning
sometimes
the best teachers can be someone right next to you. You just
never asked. I cherish everyone Ive met doing this crazy
rock-n-roll gig. And certainly hope this will now give us
a "base" sorta speak, to reconnect again. All the
wonderful friends I made while touring with Satellite Soul,
I personally welcome you too, those message board inhabitants
who are still following the J-rod. You rock, simply stated.
God bless
